CompTIA Linux+

CompTIA's Linux+ is a new certification developed in response to demands for a skills-assessment mechanism for Linux system administrators. CompTIA's Linux+ certification measures vendor-neutral Linux knowledge and skills for an individual with at least six months of practical experience. Linux continues to make huge inroads into mainstream IT infrastructures, proving itself to be an economical and practical server solution for everyday tasks.

About the Exam

There are no specific requirements for CompTIA's Linux+ certification. While it is targeted toward IT professionals with at least six months of practical experience, anyone who wishes to take the Linux+ exam may do so. CompTIA strongly recommends that candidates be A+ certified, although that is not required.

Taking the Exam

To register with Prometric in the U.S. and Canada, call 1-800-895-3926, or visit www.prometric.com. International registration is available through Regional Prometric Registration centers.

To register with VUE in the U.S. and Canada, call 1-877-551-7587, or visit www.vue.com/comptia.

The cost for taking the exam is $93 for CompTIA members and $225 for non members.

On the day of the exam, arrive at least 15 minutes early and have two forms of ID. At least one form of identification must have your photograph, and both must have your signature.
